Ahmet Karakas

Ahmet co-founded Gauda in late 2005. He has been living in Silicon Valley since 1992 and has worked at six different startups in various capacities including founder, director, CTO, VP and research engineer positions with Chromatic Research, Inc., Local Silence, Inc., Sleep Solutions, Inc., Excess Bandwidth Corp. and Portal Player, Inc. Most of these companies either were acquired or had IPO.

Ahmet was a professor of electrical engineering at Cogswell and has done research and teaching at the University of Arizona, UCSD and Stanford University. Ahmet has BS, MS and PhD degrees, all in electrical engineering.

 
Illhami Torunoglu

Ilhami is the co-founder and CTO at Gauda.  Before Gauda, he was the principal engineer at Canesta, Inc., innovator of revolutionary 3-D digital camera technology, where he developed the system and algorithms for the first projection keyboard system that senses the finger movements of a typist without an actual keyboard. Prior to Canesta, Ilhami was at Cadence Design Systems, where he led numerous projects on VLSI layout generation and electronic intellectual property protection. 

Ilhami has published more than 20 refereed articles and has more than 15 patents issued or filed. He has BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering, specializing on VLSI design and EDA algorithms.
